After a while, we grew curious as to which parts of the ship we could explore, so we questioned some of the crew who told us: Go wherever you like. Is not Titanic. You see this movie? So, we proceeded to explore the ship. The ferry was a large ship, capable of holding many cars and trucks in its hold, and thousands of people on its decks and salons. There were perhaps 20 vehicles on board and as many as 100 people. We spent the night sleeping in air seats--chairs similiar to airline seats--in a central lounge. We awoke only once when a steward flipped on the lights and warned us that the ferry would soon dock at a waypoint on the way to Patras. The engines caused the enire ship to rattle with a terrific cacophany, but it did not disturb our sleep. We awoke the next morning and ate some of the food we had brought on board. Ferry fare started at 5 euros and went up from there--far more than we had paid for our groceries. The water of the sea near Patras was clear and blue, just like the sky, and we sailed gently into port.
