I Shouldn’t Have Giggled — Colmar, Alsace, and Grünewald

I dunno what came over me, but this Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, Alsace, France was great, and you keep your ticket for the day and go out and have lunch and a siesta while they close, then you can go back on the same ticket. The entire museum was so wonderful, we got giddy and silly. We were just on total art overload! The art and furniture and stuff here are of a huge variety, and the Grünewald stuff was . . . well, I shouldn’t have giggled. But they had this triptych done for a kind of hospital for where people were treated with ergot poisoning, or St. Anthony's Fire.
