This trip like Uyuni was much the same as wha tI had experience the year before. The floating islands were still floating and Amantani was still filled with old people that hardly spoke any spanish. We were unliky with the hosting familly as there were no children, the women didnt communicate and made us more than plain meals (dinner was rice and potatoes - lol) but we walked up to the top of the island to see the ruins of Patcha Mama and Tata. Freezing, no sun but no rain, loads of wind, we were lucky to find a small outdoor cafe at the top of one of the moutains where a man and his wife were serving coffee or tea and some homemade, just out of the frying oil, local doghnuts "Picarones" . Woke up early 8am and we were off to Taquiles. Girls still not in fighting condition we got off the boat and made our way up the 536 stone steps (I counted) at an altitude of 4000m. Agat loved it! lol! Got to the top, walked around, checked out the overpriced artis**** market and then got back on the boat to Puno. Same night we grabbed a Bus for Cusco - yeah we´re going fast but Flore has got a fixed plan soon from Lima but more importantly Puno isnt the most attractive place to stay ...
