Mining equipment maker Joy Global (JOYG) posted a 34% increase in earnings for its fiscal second quarter today, to $162 million, or $1.52 per share, from $120.4 million, or $1.15 per share last year. Sales rose 19%, to $1.1 billion, as demand for the companys products stayed strong.
