LARRY HOLZER Reports From NYC L495 07/14/09 I tried to work today after a few days off, and while I was limping around I went over to Regis and Kelly Live!! Soccer legend and A-List superstar David Beckham was on the show. Davids SUV pulled into the garage and I could not get any video. When is truck emerged David rolled the window down about an inch so he could sign some autographs. Fans and paps converged and as he signed I could only get the mayhem... Took the subway [ #2 train ] down to the Remember Me set.. Rob Pattz was on set but he was hiding again. The scene was set in a diner.. Robert Pattinson, with his battered face, sunglasses and hoodie it was not easy.. I got what I could. Went back uptown to the David Letterman Show where the great Paul McCartney was appearing. Paul was performing outdoors on the Ed Sullivan Theatre Marquee. 45 years ago the Beatles performed inside that same theatre and this marked Pauls' return!!! The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Legend performed 8 songs in a great totally free concert.. Movie star, Bruce Willis and his bride, Emma Heming were in and above the crowd.. Paul sang and rocked his bass to Beatles songs, some Wings and a couple off his latest album. Paul is in town to start his concert tour at the New CITIFIELD Ballpark home of the NY Mets. The first 2 songs were part of the Letterman Show and when they were done David Letterman appeared on the marquee to thank Paul and the Band. The next songs were thank you to NYC. Only in the Big Apple! Larry
