City, union leaders react to White’s sudden retirement

0 of 5 Stars
tonight we get reaction from the firefighters union and the mayor to public safety director darren white’s abrupt retirement today. white was dogged by questions all week about a minor crash his wife was in---and why he drove her to the hospital instead of waiting for an ambulance. eddie garcia joins us live at city hall with more on white's decision. the afd union tells me that white's salary should be used on public safety and not an administrator — the mayor says that white's sudden retirement is a sign of strenth and character. the announcement came at the end of business friday from embattled former safety director darren white who is on the east coast with his wife.
