Lots of different factors are involved regarding this award. Before the season started, quarterback Peyton Manning was the leading candidate at 8/1 odds. Super Bowl champion Drew Brees was an appealing option at 10/1 odds. Three time Super Bowl Champion, Tom Brady, was another alternative at 10/1. On the other end of the spectrum, quarterback Matt Schaub had the longest odds on the board at 40/1. Over the course of the season Peyton Manning’s chances had dropped drastically due to injuries on his team. According to Bodog, Tom Brady gradually took control as the favorite at 4/7 odds due to perfection on the field. Brady only threw 4 interceptions for the season. What wasn't expected was that off of a record setting performance on Monday Night Football, quarterback Michael Vick came into the picture very quickly at 3/1. Michael Vick is the ultimate comeback story. Both leading candidates Michael Vick and Tom Brady have been eliminated from the playoffs. Regardless, these are the two remaining options to receive the coveted NFL MVP Award Trophy.
