President Obama wrapped up his visit in San Francisco, CA with Democrats

Presidents don’t usually come in through the back door, but Thursday night Barack Obama entered a high-priced Palo Alto fundraiser's home through the kitchen. And before he could start speaking, the host's husband reported the real news of the night: The Phillies were leading the Giants 3-2. Obama was on a trip to four Western states to pump up his party's coffers in the final days before the midterm elections and headline events that raised an estimated $1.8 million for the Democratic National Committee. "Despite the game, we want to thank you for being here," said Zachary Bogue, husband of Google executive Marissa Mayer, as he introduced the president to about 50 supporters at the couple's home. Obama's events on the Peninsula began with a brief meeting at the Westin hotel in Millbrae with Apple CEO Steve Jobs to talk about technology and education. He then starred at a $30400-a-person event to benefit the Democratic National Committee for about 50 attendees at the Atherton home of former state Controller Steve Westly. Also at Westly's home, guests paid $6500 a head to have their photos taken with Obama and San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris - a longtime Obama supporter and Democratic rising star who will use the funds in her campaign for California attorney general.
