Lauren Mackenzie and Kris Wason both hailing from Townsville, QLD originally have recently teamed up to form Brisbane’s hottest new Country Music Duo 'Gravel Road'. With influences like Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellem, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Troy Casser-Daley, Carrie Underwood and Buxton Hughes just to name a few and singing a range of original songs and covers with both Lauren & Kris playing acoustic guitar the duo has a sound unlike anything you have heard before. They have recently starting playing gigs around Brisbane including Music Kafe (West End), Logan Village Hotel, The Barra Bar and have also been asked to support Col Finley at the Tamworth Country Music Festival 2011 with gigs at the Tamworth Services Club. The duo entered the Mud Bulls & Music Festival as a duo this year and placed 2nd overall and with high hopes of drawing a fan base already gathering here in Brisbane are set to take Australia by storm with their unique sound and songwriting abilities. Both Lauren & Kris starting singing from very young ages with Lauren studying at Johnny Young Talent School and going onto studying classical ballet at the Queensland Ballet as well as acting in TV series 'Fire' with Deborah Lee Furness and Georgie Parker and a range of TV commercials. Kris self taught on guitar and a graduate of the Camerata College and after winning 3 scholarships to the CMAA College has performed with many artists and collaborated with his brother Keith and father Robbie Wason ...
