Foo Fighters Debut New Single: "Rope"

www.mahalo.com The Foo Fighters debuted their new single, "Rope," online on February 23, 2011. "Rope" is the first single from the band’s upcoming album, ''Wasting Light.'' The album is due out in April of 2011 and the single will be officially released on March 1, 2011. Fans who pre-order "Wasting Light" on iTunes (starting on March 1) will get "Rope" as a free download. The "Rope" track was released on the Foo Fighters' official website and on the band's Facebook page, allowing fans the chance to hear the song months before the album arrives. "Rope" will reportedly be the second track on the ''Wasting Light'' album, which Dave Grohl has reportedly called the "heaviest Foo Fighters album yet." Spinner says "Rope" features "commanding guitars" and a "melodic chorus," that should please Foo Fighter fans. "Wasting Light" is the Foo Fighters' seventh studio album. It is set to hit store shelves (and digital retailers) on April 12, 2011. In late January of 2011, the band offered a special preview of the album, during a 'surprise' club show in Santa Barbara, California. The Foo Fighters played all of the 11 tracks from the album, in sequential order, for fans. On Valentine's Day 2011, the band offered up a "gift" for fans: a video for "White Limo," another new song from the forthcoming album.
