Capital High students file lawsuit

did the pat down at a high school prom go too far? thats a question raised by a federal lawsuit filed by 2 capital high students in santa fe... our gadi schwartz spoke with one of those students who says security guards crossed the line. gadi? the district gave me a demonstration today of the way student were patted down- what they showed me was similar to an airport pat down. and on girls, if a metal detector picked up metal from a bra underwire, sometimes they would be asked to pull and shake the underwire to show if any contraband was hidden underneath- but the minute thumbnail 06:38 pm student we spoke to today says - that’s not what happened to her... but capital high school senior candice herrera says her a security guard cupped her breasts and grabbed the underwire of her bra and shook it and lifted up her dress and slid her hands down her bare legs before letting her into the prom... all in view of other students and the administrators. the principal says she never saw a security guard do that to a student. they never do any kind of closed hand its always with blades and using the backs of their hands. thats defiantly not what happened to me because i have been through other searches before and i kn that they are only supposed to use the outside of the hand and this woman used the cup of her hand and checked me in that way. the school district says they are allowed to search students because of safety... and admits female students are sometimes asked to move the underwire of their bra's and dresses to see minute thumbnail 06:39 pm if contraband is tucked inside. the district says they plan on conducting students searches at the upcoming santa fe high school prom which will be held at buffalo thunder. in santa fe, gadi schwartz, k-o-b eyewitness news four
