2011年もフジテレビの夏のイベント、「お台場合衆国」が開国しました。初日の盛り上がりの様子を、山崎夕貴アナウンサーが取材しました。東日本復興と節電がテーマの2011年のお台場合衆国。お台場合衆国で販売されているバームクーヘンは、今回の震災で被災した宮城・仙台市のお菓子屋さんが作ったものだが、実はサッカー日本代表・香川真司選手(22)の直筆のメッセージが付いてくる。香川選手は、阪神・淡路大震災が起こった兵庫・神戸市出身で、その後、仙台市で育った。このカードには、「僕を育ててくれた仙台復興までの道のりは長いですが、共に頑張りましょう」と書かれている。16日から始まった「お台場合衆国2011 ぼくらがNIPPON応援団!」。2011年も豪華ラインナップが勢ぞろいしている。フジテレビ2階の広場、合衆国サンサンアイランドには、人気アニメ「ワンピース」の海賊船「サウザンドサニー号」が実物大で登場し、アニメの世界から飛び出した迫力の世界観を楽しめる。また、船の上からは滑り台で降りることができる。そして、降りた先の青い塗料は特殊なもので、塗った部分だけ表面温度を抑えることができる。この夏、日本中が直面する電力問題。お台場合衆国の注目キーワードは「節電」。合衆国サンサンアイランドは、100%自家発電で賄っている。ソーラーパネルは、日中最大で100kW発電できる。これは、30アンペアの一般家庭30軒分の電力に相当する。厳しい現実を目の前にしながらも、少しでも日本を元気にしていきたいということで、2011年のお台場合衆国は、日本を応援する企画が満載となっている。東北3県のおいしいメニューが食べられる「みちのく合衆国」の「NEW EAST KITCHEN」では、三陸海鮮カレーが販売されている。みちのく合衆国での収益は、全額被災地へ寄付されるという。東北、そして日本全国へ元気を届けるお台場合衆国は、8月31日まで開催されている。
