The Wayne Bridges Show - 1972

It’s Monday, October 23, 1972 and you are watching NBC TV... This is a mock TV show entitled "The Wayne Bridges Show" that my group and some close friends produced for my Television Studio class. The Wayne Bridges Show was a show that I and my friends wrote (Ken Papp, Tim Redding, and Patrick Woodruff). The show is a late night talk show running a full 45 min. LIVE (this clip is only the opening monologue and first skit) with period correct commercials and all. This show was to air before Johnny Carson, and the format is based on most talk shows, with a monologue, skit, first guest, skit, second guest, and a musical guest to finish up. All jokes in the monologue are written either to that day's headlines, or the famous headlines of that week. It took lots of research to find books, magazines, and newspapers with the information so we could make a true period correct piece. The costumes were also picked out to be correct as possible, with some vintage clothing stores help as well. I hope that you enjoy this clip, and the other two parts which will complete the show.
