Both teams were 11 3 heading into the game each hoping to gain playoff positioning.History was made that day. Coming into the game Colts QB Peyton Manning had thrown 47 touchdown passes during the season only 1 away from tying a record set by Dan Marino. The Colts fell behind early. Manning threw the record tying pass on a shovel pass to James Mungro. The Chargers led 31 16 in the 4th quarter however. The Colts would come roaring back first with a kick return TD by Dominic Rhodes. Then Manning threw the record breaking touchdown to Brandon Stokley. Immediately after they got a 2 point conversion to tie the game and force overtime where they would win the coin toss and kick a field goal to win 34 31.Despite the fact that Patriots QB Tom Brady broke the same record this past year this thrilling game remains one of the most memorable contests in recent history.
