Google Maps has provided traffic information on interstate highways for quite some time. Now though, Google is expanding its coverage of the traffic layer. Traffic will now be shown for US highways and arterial roads leading to those highways.

Google Maps is handy on your desktop and on your BlackBerry. It’s great for getting directions from one place to another. At the same time, however, it can also give you an idea of what kind of traffic you're looking at down the road.
