Stéphane Taponnier and Hervé Ghesquière, the two French journalists kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan in December 2009, have been released. They were working for state TV channel France 3 when they were captured and held for 547 days. They’re expected to be home in France by Thursday morning.
